I wrote Girl Talk Uninterrupted to an insightful piece that confronts the well-known, yet often incomplete rite of passage in American culture: "The Talk." Traditionally centered around an awkward discussion about sex between parents and their children, this pivotal moment frequently overlooks vital subjects like consent, gender norms, body image, and the multifaceted aspects of womanhood, particularly for young women. In this article, I wanted to redefine and expand the boundaries of "The Talk," presenting what I think are essential topics that should be encompassed. By offering a fresh and inclusive approach, this project aims to empower individuals, foster meaningful dialogue, and reshape the narrative surrounding this crucial coming-of-age conversation.

MY ROLE: For this piece, I owned the full editorial process, from concept to print. I wrote the story, then built the visual world around it. This consisted of scouting the location, casting the shoot, directing the photographer, and overseeing all styling and set details. The layout came last, designing the spread to let the images and text breathe together and carry the reader through the work.
